Why is the tungsten steel blade easy to break?
Why is the tungsten steel blade easy to break?
Tungsten steel knife is a kind of knife made of tungsten steel (tungsten carbide, also known as tungsten titanium alloy).
Generally, it is mainly used in CNC machining centers and CNC engraving machines. It can also be installed on ordinary milling machines to process some relatively hard and uncomplicated heat-treated materials. Tungsten steel milling cutters are widely used and high-speed processing is used.
The hardness of tungsten steel milling cutter is Vickers 10K, second only to diamond. Because of this, the tungsten steel milling cutter is not easy to be worn, and it is brittle and hard and is not afraid of annealing.
The tungsten steel face milling cutter carries out high-speed intermittent cutting, so that the cutter tooth is subjected to repeated mechanical shock and thermal shock, resulting in cracks and fatigue damage of the cutter tooth. The higher the milling speed, the earlier and more severe the milling cutter wear will be.
Most tungsten steel face milling cutters lose their cutting ability due to fatigue damage. If the geometric angle of the milling cutter is unreasonably selected or used improperly, and the strength of the cutter tooth is poor, the cutter tooth will wear the milling cutter without cracks after bearing a large impact force.
